Marital Bitch (Men with Badges #1)– available now!

Some people never grow up, and there are some people you never grow out of no matter how hard you try.

She’s irrational. He’s crass. She wanted out of South Boston. He never wanted to leave. She keeps him at a distance. He refuses to leave her side. Together, Colleen Frasier and Bradley Patrick are ridiculous and juvenile. Apart, they’re just plain miserable.

While Detective Bradley Patrick was keeping the streets of South Boston safe, Colleen Frasier was busy litigating late into the evening and admiring the view from her high-rise condo downtown. Her life was perfect– sort of. She spent too much time drinking her high-priced lattes and acquiring an impressive shoe collection and before she knew it she was 35 and time for all that other stuff she wanted, like a husband and children, was quickly passing her by. And then there’s that longtime rift that’s kept her and her childhood best friend, Bradley Patrick, at odds for over a decade.

All of that changes on Colleen’s 35th birthday when she receives a surprise marriage proposal from Brad. One night. One birthday wish. Trouble is, he brings out the worst in Colleen. She can’t possibly marry him, can she? She’s never been very good at saying “no” to him, either. What was supposed to end the next day with an annulment takes on a life of its own when video of the wedding ends up on the internet and their families are overjoyed by the news. Fearing the shame of her Catholic family, Colleen has a proposal of her own: pretend the marriage is for real– and Brad is all too willing to play the doting husband.

The Birthright Series: Anomaly (#1)– now available!

(new adult urban fantasy)

How far would you go to save your sister?

Life as a college senior is stressful enough. Between mid-terms, stupid boys, and a rare blood condition, Eliza Landry is just trying to figure out what normal is—whatever that means—when she discovers that vampires aren’t just a thing of legend.

In a matter of moments, her life changes forever when she and her older sister Kate suffer a vampire attack which leaves Eliza with two puncture wounds on her neck and an allergy to sunlight. But she’s still human, or at least she thinks she is. It doesn’t really matter—her main concern is that her sister is missing.

Sorrow turns to obsession, leading Eliza to piece together the puzzle of that terrifying night. Even stumbling upon a millennia-old vampire assassin named Luke Conrad who demands she stop looking into vampire affairs cannot deter her.

When bodies start piling up and one of them is supposedly Kate, Eliza and Luke set out to discover who is behind the attacks. Soon, Eliza is drawn into the dark and dangerous world of the undead, with no guarantee she’ll make it out alive, and no doubt that she won’t like what she finds.

The Switch (Men with Badges #2)– available summer 2013!

(contemporary romance)

Shelby Brignac has gotten herself into some trouble. From her awful taste in men to her poor choices, she just can’t catch a break. After stupidly helping her boyfriend with his loan sharking business, Shelby has decided she wants out. It’s just too dangerous for a waitress, in her opinion. But just when she thinks she’s free of the headache, she’s offered up one last job– one last job she can’t refuse: retrieve a precious antique gem and she’ll get her best friend back alive.

Hiding out in New Orleans’ French Quarter with the rare purple diamond in tow, Shelby thinks she has no way out of the seemingly hopeless situation– that is until Chase Guilliot, an off-duty cop intervenes, saving her life. Too bad for Chase that the gunman who’s hot on his tail doesn’t care if one of his targets carries a badge– he just wants Shelby’s head and that diamond back. And he’s not above killing a cop to get it.

On the run with a hot rare diamond and a beautiful hot-headed woman, Chase’s oath to serve and protect is pushed to the limits. Unsure if he can trust the one person he wants to more than anything, Chase swears he’ll get both he and Shelby out of this mess alive, but then he’s done with her for good– or is he?

THE SWITCH is a thrilling contemporary romance that likes to live on both sides of the law.

  1. Just finished Marital Bitch and have to tell you I Loved it! The characters were real, the dialogue was natural and fluid and I loved the laugh out loud humour. Well done! I’m looking forward to the next book!

      1. I just finished the marital bitch, it was so funny I couldn’t stop LOL. When is the next book coming out?

  2. I just finished your story Marital Bitch! What a fun story! I loved it, laughed through the whole thing, and even read parts of it out loud to my mom who also thought the parts I read to her were hilarious. Thanks for a delightfully uncommon read. Frankly, I’m bored of the “financially strapped heroine seeking wealthy pockets” stories that dominate romance these days, so your story was refreshingly original. More stories of down-to-earth people struggling for their HEA in an engaging way need to be written…so keep writing because you have a unique flow that I found delightful. Thanks for posting your story to Amazon.

  3. OMG!
    Love your book!!
I’m from Chili (Santiago city) and when I read Marital Bitch I laughed so hard that people on de bus looked at me like saying, “Poor crazy girl, she’s demented.” hahaha…
I love the fact that the characters are not perfect (and they deserve each other, hahaha)… is refreshing…
    So thanks for your story!
Can’t wait to read the sequel!!

  5. Just finished Marital Bitch. This was a great book!! Looking forward to the next one. My friend at work was reading it and reading parts out loud, so I had to get for myself. I stayed up until my Nook died. Couldn’t wait to finish it today.

  6. A friend suggested Marital Bitch to me and I absolutely loved it. I have all read the popular books i.e Twilight, 50 shades and your characters are more real and seem like they are someone you would meet on the street if you are not living it your self. I’m looking forward to reading more of your books and hope to be just at excited reading them as i was Marital Bitch. Good luck on new books coming out.

  9. What a fine job you did on “Marital Bitch”. I usually do not leave comments but I enjoyed this book so much I just had to let you know. I will be reading book 2 just as soon as I can find it online.

Thanks for writing a very good story with “down to earth” characters

    1. Kathy,

Thanks so much! Bradley is my very own realistic version of my dream man– loyal, funny, handsome, a little stubborn, but so, so loving. 😀 I’m glad you enjoyed him. Hopefully you like Chase from The Switch just as much!

      – JC

  10. Marital bitch is an excellent read. I enjoyed every word of it. It is easy to read and very difficult to put down. I have to admit that I shook my kindle more than ones in the hope that Colleen would feel it 😉
    Thanks for a great book.
